The Biggest Loser returns with two new trainers..

With a former Gold medal Olympian, bereaved father, and the largest ever contestant, the eleventh season of Biggest Loser got off to a big start last night.
It also saw the introduction of two new trainers to the show, following the decision of Jillian Michaels to step down at the end of this season in order to pursue her dream of adopting a child.
The new trainers were kept a mystery throughout the show, but helped their teams to record weight loss with one contestant, Moses losing 41lbs in the first week.

Heading home: Ana was the first to leave the show, after only losing 9lbs in her first week - compared to 41lbs from another contestant

Not so lucky was single mother Ana, who lost just 9lbs and was sent home after just a week of training with Bob Harper and Jillian.
The teams were given the choice of who to train with - after first taking part in a challenge, to run 5km on a treadmill.
The first five teams were guaranteed the choice of who they would like to train with - the established names of Jillian and Bob, or the unknown newcomers.

Sad record: At 507lbs, stay-at-home-dad Arthur is the most obese contestant ever to take part in Biggest Loser

Matching bellies: Twins Don and Dan lost 40lbs between them in their first week

Making their decision harder, those who chose to train with the unknowns would be given four weeks immunity, while lose picking Bob and Jillian would get just one week.
Contestants Rulon and Justin, Moses and Kaylee, Austin and Ken, Denise and Sarah, Jaquin and Larialmy went for the unknowns.
With this year focusing on teams of two, those desperate for the weight loss show to change their lives were fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, identical twins, sisters and best friends.
Amongst them was stay-at-home father Arthur, 31, who at 507lbs and 80per cent body fat is the largest contestant ever in the 11 seasons of Biggest Loser.

Too much: The strain got to Jennifer who collapsed on the treadmill

Becoming tearful as he stepped on the scales, he admitted that a year ago he had weighed an incredible 646lbs, at just 5ft8in in height.
At 839lbs the heaviest team was gym owners Rulon and Justin, both 39.
As a former Olympian Rulon, won gold for the U.S. in wrestling, but found it impossible to eat a normal diet when his training ended.
His teammate Justin admitted he was disgusted when he saw last year's contestants weight in, only to realise he weighed less than them.

The old guard: Trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper; two mystery trainers are working with half the contestants

'I'm gonna be a dad my kids can be proud of,' he sobbed.
Twin brothers Don and Dan, 54, broke down when talking about their motivation to lose weight - their children.
Dan was competing in memory of his son Adam, who died after a drug overdose aged just 24 six years ago.
For Don it was the fact that his son has brokn off all contact, determined not to watch his father kill himself through overeating.

First challenge: The teams had to complete a 5k run on the treadmill for the chance to choose their trainers

While giving their reasons to lose weight, contestants expressed a desire to live to see their children grow up.
But for opera singer Olivia, 35, and college admissions counsellor Sarah, 27, they will not get the chance to start a family unless they lose weight.
Olivia's obesity has aggravated her polycistic ovary syndrome, leaving her unable to conceive unless she loses weight. Sarah has suffered a series of weight-related miscarriages and cannot carry a child to term.
