Another high-rise emergency in China as four-year-old girl is saved from fall

A four-year-old toddler had to be dramatically rescued after getting her head stuck in the railings on 3rd floor apartment block.
The youngster was left dangling for 20 minutes in the bars of a window grid in Tengzhou, northern China's Shandong Province.
It is believed that she had been looking out of the window into the street below when she fell through gaps in the rusty iron railings.

Residents downstairs raised the alarm after they spotted the hapless girl, who had been left at home alone before the incident.
Pictures taken during the rescue show the stranded youngster caught in the narrow gap between the railings. She is desperately clinging on to the bars above her with her tiny hands.
Neighbours below held out a blanket to catch the girl if she slipped through.
'We heard cries and saw a little girl dangling in the air with her head stuck in between the window grid bars,' said a neighbour.

Police arrived shortly afterwards and officer Zhao Liancheng climbed up to the girl in order to support her weight and ease the pressure on her neck.
However, he was unable to free her. He said: 'We contacted the parents asking them to come back home now'.
The parents arrived 10 minutes later and officers dashed into the apartment in order to pull the girl back to safety.
The father said he and his wife had gone out to run an errand, leaving their daughter at home alone.
He added: 'It's lucky that neighbours detected the situation early'.
It is unclear if police will take any action will be taken against the parents for leaving the girl alone while they went out.
