Henin retires from tennis

- 0

Justine Henin has announced her retirement from tennis after recurring problems with an injury to her right elbow.

Henin first retired from the game in 2008 as the world number one, and winner of seven Grand Slam titles. She made a comeback in 2010, reaching the final of the Australian Open in her first Grand Slam appearance in the second chapter of her career.

But the 28-year-old's season ended prematurely after an elbow injury flared up at Wimbledon.
She reached the third round of this year's Australian Open before suffering defeat a 6-4 7-6 to Svetlana Kuznetsova.
