A pair of childhood sweethearts who were apart for 65 years have finally married after they found each other on the internet.
Mary Lyness, 81, received an email from her first love John Akings, also 81, after she was given a laptop for her birthday.

The ceremony took place at Keighley parish church, in West Yorkshire with the bride wore a pretty pink dress and jacket.
Despite a damp start to the day, the sunshine came out to welcome the happy couple as they left the church, with delighted guests showering them in confetti.
The new Mrs Akings said: 'I’m just so happy - it’s turned out to be a beautiful day, everyone is here to celebrate with us - it’s just lovely.
'John had tears in his eyes as I was walking down the aisle, we’re so happy to finally be married after all this time.
'To meet at the age of seven and now all these years later finally make it down the aisle feels lovely.'
The couple’s delighted families clubbed together to treat them to an eight-day surprise honeymoon touring Scotland.

Mary’s daughter Jackie Smith, 52, said: 'It’s just made me feel ecstatic, everyone is so happy for them.

'I’m looking forward to getting to know out extended family - there are so many of us in the two families now, it’s a very exciting time.'
The pensioners partied on into the night at a reception complete with a buffet, speeches and a disco.
Delighted Mary said: 'It makes us feel 21 again, it’s great that we found each other.
'I was so scared to meet him at first because I now have so many wrinkles, but my daughter said ‘he will have wrinkles too’.
'I’m so glad I met him because he’s still good looking, he always was.'
The couple, met when they were children and became firm friends until John turned 15 and joined the RAF.traveling the world as an aircraft technician.
After striking up email contact through a cousin of John's the pair finally got back together.

again, but I thought ‘Why not?’
