This is the touching moment a young daughter tenderly cuts her cancer-stricken mother's hair to prepare her for chemotherapy. In the intimate video Lola Etchells, 6, is also shown shaving the head of her mother Sarah, 44, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last September.
The footage was filmed by Lola's father Craig, 40, as a personal memento and to help the family cope with the impact of the cancer.
'We were trying to help Lola understand what it all means,' he said.
However, he decided to post it on YouTube after family and friends were so moved by the film they thought they could use it to raise money and awareness of cancer charities.
'We wish to reach out to you and strike a chord,' he writes in a caption to accompany the video.
The family from Greater Manchester are hoping the video will help them raise £10,000 for ten different cancer charities, including The Christie hospital where Sara is currently undergoing treatment.
Craig, a former sound engineer and producer who who now works as an IT manager at a primary school, said: 'I put it all together and realised the impact it could have.
'It's a very personal moment and it was very brave of Sara to let it go but we thought we might be able to do some good with it so put it on YouTube.'
Sara, who works as a breast feeding support worker at Tameside Hospital in Ashton-under-Lyne, was told that she had cancer last September.
The couple, who have six children between them - Lola, six, Finn, nine, 16-year-old twins Charlie and Rory, Jake, 18, and Oli, 22 - say that they have been open with their children about Sara's condition.
Craig, 40, said: 'The natural reaction is to burst into tears but having got over the initial shock you've got to focus and be positive. Sara has smiled her way through it all and the biggest thing that's kept her going are the children.'They are the reason to get up in the morning and keep fighting. The hardest thing to do was tell them.
'We've kept nothing a secret. They can ask us questions and were not hiding anything from them. That way it's become part of their lives and they understand it a bit better.'
Sara is currently half way through her chemotherapy and is due to undergo three weeks of daily radiotherapy for three weeks followed by five years of hormone treatment.
The family now plan to create more videos including a trip to the wig shop to help raise more funds.
