Laughing together, the mother and son in bus horror smash as they walked to school

Happily posing for the camera, this is the mother and son run over by a bus as they walked to school.
Six-year-old Finlay Connor died after suffering serious head injuries in the accident, which has left his mother Nicola fighting for her life.
His schoolfriends and other parents watched in horror as the 52-seater bus reversed over Finlay  and his mother as it backed away after a collision with a tractor.

It is not known whether 38-year-old Mrs Connor – who remains critically ill in hospital – has been told that her first son was killed in the crash in the village of Woodborough, Wiltshire, on Monday.
Yesterday, Finlay’s father Greg paid tribute to their son, describing their ‘beautiful little prince’ as ‘the air that we breathed’.

He said: ‘The world stopped turning for me on Monday morning, but as my beautiful wife, Nicola, lies desperately ill in Frenchay Hospital, it is the wonderful support that is keeping me going and enabling me to be strong both for Nicola and Louis, Finlay’s three-year-old brother.’
He added: ‘Please remember us in your prayers, and thank you all once again for your continued love and support.

‘At present, I am simply not able to make any sense of all of this.’
Finlay and his mother were hit by the single decker bus, which had just dropped off a group of children at Woodborough School. It was empty apart from the driver.
They became trapped under the vehicle after it reversed over them following a collision with a tractor on the small grassy lane.
The driver, a 52-year-old man, was arrested and questioned at Salisbury police station before being released on bail.
Teachers from Finlay’s school said they will all miss the ‘smiley’ and ‘sunny’ youngster ‘and his spontaneous hugs’.
They added: ‘We have known Finlay and his family for two years and these tragic events have rocked all those who knew him and taught him during this time.
‘He was a bright child and threw himself wholeheartedly into every activity. He loved electronics, dance and music.
‘His peers will remember his sunny, kind and caring nature and his infectious smile – a good friend to all.’
