Arsenal ace Nicklas Bendnter celebrated scoring against Wigan last night by paying tribute to his newborn baby - and sucking his thumb.
His fianceé Baroness Caroline Luel-Brockdorff gave birth by Caesarean section at London's Portland Hospital on December 16, but the pair are said to still be there.
According to reports in Danish newspapers, both are still receiving treatment.
But posting on his website this morning, Nicklas made no mention of any medical dramas, saying he had 'the most wonderful Christmas you can imagine.'
Posting under the heading 'I dedicate my goal to my newborn son' and 'Enjoying my new title as a father', he said: 'On the 16th of December my fiancée gave birth to a beautiful boy.

Who's the daddy: Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner celebrates his first half goal against Wigan in the Barclays Premier League game at the DW Stadium |
'I can’t describe all the feelings that went trough me. I have just had the most wonderful Christmas one can imagine. Have had my family and grandma visiting and we enjoyed a typical Danish Christmas evening. It was my son's first Christmas and he spent most of it sleeping and eating. Wish you a Happy New Year.'
And Caroline's sister Louise Duddi told Danish magazine Starlounge yesterday: 'She and the baby are doing well.'
Caroline's mother Molise confirmed the baby's birth from the family home in Denmark last week.
Danish international Nicklas, 22, announced on his website in July that he was to become a father for the first time with Caroline, 35, saying it was 'one of the greatest days of my life!'.
A member of the Danish royal family as well as a model and TV presenter and worth £400m, she was known as Caroline Fleming when she married multi-millionaire banker Rory Fleming, son of James Bond creator Ian.
She had two children with him - Alexander, seven, and Josephine, four - with whom she lives in London, but she split from Rory in 2007.
She then met Nicklas more than a year ago on a Danish reality TV show which saw her renovate the family pile, Valdemars Castle.
Nicklas, who earns £2.5million a year at Arsenal, was a guest on the show and the pair did a photoshoot to promote his appearance.
Caroline said of him at the time: 'He is charming and bright and he's very willing to help other people.
'You never know when our paths will cross again.'
Nicklas's prowess at goal scoring last night however wasn't enough for Arsenal to land a win - the match finished 2-2.
He's not the first footballer to celebrate becoming a new father and goal scoring at the same time with a bit of thumb sucking either.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani sucked their thumbs on the pitch after becoming fathers and Carlos Tevez recently sported a dummy after scoring for his team Manchester United.
But the ahem, daddy of the movement was Brazilian Bebeto who motioned rocking a baby at the 1994 World Cup after hitting the back of the net - sparking a trend amongst all proud footballing fathers.
