A grandfather has come up with a novel way of getting his five-year old to eat her greens - by helping her grow a giant cabbage that weighs more than her.
Paris Vowles, helped her grandfather Philip Vowles, 62, to grow the enormous vegetable that weighed in at almost eight stone - over twice her body weight.
Paris said she loves helping her grandfather, a retired farmer, to grow large lettuces, and massive marrows at his allotment in Llanharry near Cardiff.
Paris told The Daily Express: ' I love helping granddad grow vegetables - it's lovely seeing them getting bigger and bigger.'
And Mr Vowles told the paper that her help in the garden has encouraged her to eat her vegetables. He said: 'Paris likes to help me. She says the vegetables taste much better than the ones you get in the supermarket.'
But the giant cabbage is too much for one family to eat so the gardening pair said they will cut up it up and share it.
Mr Vowles said: 'I'm going to cut it up and give it to the local pub so customers can enjoy it.'
